MILLIONS is using the Personal Video feature to connect with our athletes and we asked UFC fighter Erin Blanchfield five questions. She responded using the short form ask me anything video.
Here are those questions and her answers:
MILLIONS: You're coming off a big win in December, what's next and who's next?
Blanchfield: Honestly, I'm not really sure. Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. I mean, I hope that someone in the top 15, I would love if they can make that match up with Macy (Chiasson) again. That would be really fun. But I'm hoping something for the spring, but we'll see.
MILLIONS: Is COVID impacting your training and how do you work around it?
Blanchfield: Honestly, COVID hasn't really been impacting my training much since it was pretty bad like a year ago, but recently it's been fine. So nothing to really work around.
MILLIONS: If you could fight just one person past or present, who would it be?
Blanchfield: Honestly, there's not many people that I'm like, oh, I really want to fight. The only person I would say is definitely Valentina Shevchenko, just because I think everyone is building her up so much and they're like, “Oh, she's unbeatable,” blah, blah, blah. And I definitely want to meet her one day and that's probably the only person, really.
MILLIONS: What is psychedelic water? And is it what everyone thinks it is?
Blanchfield: Yeah, I mean it has like kava root and a few different like leaf extracts. I recommend it. I think it's nice. It's just pretty mild, especially if you want to stay away from alcohol and stuff like that. It's fun. I always have it with my friends, stuff like that and it tastes good and yeah, it was a good time.
MILLIONS: What's your favorite thing to do after a fight? Do you have a post-win ritual or post-lost ritual?
Blanchfield: Honestly, I just like celebrating with family and friends. It depends where I'm at and what there is to do and stuff like that. But just celebrating with the closest people to me is what I love to do. No, I don't really believe in rituals like pre-fight and post-fight or anything like that. I just kind of go with the flow and see what happens.
