AUBURN, Ala. – As Auburn Volleyball (19-8, 9-7) gears up for a pivotal in-state showdown against Alabama (10-17, 0-16), one player stands on the brink of a significant career milestone. Kendal Kemp, the formidable middle blocker, approaches the coveted 300 career rejections mark, poised to become the eighth Tiger in program history to achieve this feat.

In Auburn's recent three-set triumph over LSU, Kemp showcased her defensive prowess alongside fellow middle blocker Kyla Swanson. The duo has been a formidable force at the net, each averaging over 1.00 blocks per set. Kemp, leading the way with 1.27 blocks per set, is on the verge of reaching her 300th career block.

As a team, Auburn's impressive 2.47 blocks per set rank fourth in the SEC and 45th in the nation. Their collective defensive strength is a key factor in their success, with a total of 264 blocks placing them second in the conference.

Head coach Brent Crouch is also on the brink of a coaching milestone, with his next victory marking his 150th career win. Under his leadership, Auburn has enjoyed success against in-state rival Alabama, maintaining a perfect 5-0 record since he took over the program.

In the last encounter with Alabama, the Tigers secured a 3-1 victory, with Madison Scheer delivering a standout 21-kill performance. As Auburn readies for the rematch, the team looks to build on their recent convincing form and continue their undefeated streak against the Crimson Tide during Crouch's tenure.

Kendyl Reaugh spearheads Alabama's offense, averaging over 3.00 kills per set. Auburn's defense, led by Kemp and Swanson, will face the challenge of containing Reaugh and disrupting Alabama's rhythm. Despite Alabama's tough season, they have shown resilience, taking sets off formidable opponents.

Auburn's focus remains sharp as they anticipate a spirited clash with Alabama, setting the stage for their final regular-season match against No. 9 Arkansas on Friday, Nov. 24. The Tigers aim to maintain their winning momentum, and with Kendal Kemp's looming milestone, the matchup promises to be a testament to Auburn's defensive prowess.
