Canadian professional boxer “Starchild” Mitch Louis-Charles is heading to Rhode Island this weekend for a middleweight fight with Lamont Powell at Rhode Wars presented by CES Boxing. Louis-Charles says anything can happen in a fight and you can’t make predictions, but he’s making one promise, “a great show, put on a hell of a show for this fight…I expect myself to put on a spectacular performance for this one.”
Louis-Charles made the comments in a Personal Video that he sent to MILLIONS after we submitted an ask me anything request.
Louis-Charles says it is the “most important fight in my career because of where I'm at in my maturity, where I'm at in my progression in and out of the ring.” He’s been working with boxing coach Alex Rivera from Boston and says the training camp has been going very well. “Alex is making, like, everything be sharper, crisper in my game, like also mentally he's giving me a whole other aspect that I can use.”
Louis-Charles says Rivera is also familiar with his opponent, Powell, and he knows both the fighter and his training team very well, which has made it easier to identify Powell’s weaknesses. “So yeah we are definitely making our game play off of what we're seeing. Once again, I cannot reveal that to you all. I got to show you all on fight night,” says Louis-Charles, who is keeping his cards close to his chest, and is hesitant to reveal his game plan.
The boxer from Quebec is thanking all of his fans and social media followers for their support heading into this fight and says, “make sure you tune in. It's going to be a great night. It's going to be a fun night.”
