Mazlum Akdeniz and Terry Osias, two prominent boxers from Longueuil, share more than just the upcoming boxing gala featuring Kim Clavel on October 7 at Bell Place. They've both recently ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing their own gyms in the area.
For Akdeniz, his journey started in a Longueuil gym on boul. Ste-Foy, and now he's the proud owner of AK Boxing & Fitness on Chemin de Chambly. Offering a range of services from free training to private and group boxing lessons, as well as specialized self-defense courses for women, Akdeniz is thriving on the challenges of business ownership.
Osias, already a co-owner of a mobile gym, expanded his horizons by opening TO Boxe Studio on Richelieu Street in Saint-Hubert's industrial district. Despite being a boxing gym without a ring, it's designed for everyone, emphasizing fitness through the sport. Osias, deeply rooted in his community, envisions building more significant initiatives around his gym, including launching a foundation, giving conferences, and supporting young people.
Both Akdeniz and Osias exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship and community support in Longueuil.
