Jamahal Hill On Top With Spectacular KO at UFC Fight Night Main Event

February 19, 2022

Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hill lived up to his moniker, and put his opponent, Johnny Walker, to sleep Saturday night in the main event of the UFC Fight Night.  The MILLIONS mixed martial artist catapulted himself up the light heavyweight rankings with an impressive knockout victory.

“I’m feeling great, come out here and show what I can do, it's time to start having a different kind of conversation,” Hill told Paul Felder after the fight, saying he should be asking, “where is he going next, stop doubting and start to believe cause it's real.”

Hill came out early in the first round throwing leg kicks, while Walker showed some flashy spinning moves that didn’t land.  Both fighters were throwing heavy power shots, with Walker pushing a ferocious pace.  Walker initiated the clinch, and pushed Hill up against the cage.  Hill managed to break away, and he seemed to be the more patient fighter and was hunting for his shots.  Hill started applying forward pressure and when Walker threw a right hand, Hill fired a cannon overhand right that connected with Walker’s temple.  It was immediate, Walker was out on his feet, fell backward, and dropped flat on his back.  Hill pounced and the referee jumped in, it was over, and the finish was spectacular.

“I just threw it and it landed, and it landed clean, and if that didn't land I had another coming right behind it,” says Hill.  Heading into the fight Hill was ranked 12th, but now he’ll likely move into the top ten in the division.  When asked about whether or not he could see himself fighting for the belt, Hill replied, “yah that's definitely what I want. I’m ready to come for that, right now we’re going to see, I'm going to take a look at the division and see what's up…see what makes sense.”
