Money Powell IV’s Body Work Pays Off At Pulse Boxing Event

February 26, 2022

Money Powell IV was as good as gold Saturday night as he made a living off digging into his opponent’s body with devastating hooks and uppercuts.  He had a quick night against Fidel Monterrosa Munoz in a super middleweight bout at Pulse Boxing’s ‘A Night of Championship Boxing 10’ in Atlanta.

The first round saw Powell sitting back, looking to counter, while Munoz fired off a couple hard left hooks that touched Powell.  Then the lights went out, literally, and the official had to call a timeout while everyone waited for the lights to come back on.  A few moments later they were back at it and Munoz was the aggressor, but then an unintentional low blow to Munoz led to another brief stoppage.

Munoz recovered, the fighters touched gloves, and seconds later Munoz was on the ground.  Powell ripped a right hook to the body that sent Munoz to the canvas, but he got back up and kept going.  Then it happened again, only this time it was a left hook that Powell whipped into Munoz’s torso, dropping him.  It took Munoz longer to recover, but he rose to his feet again, and unfortunately for him, nothing changed.  Powell drove a left uppercut deep into Munoz and it looked like the fight would be over after the third knockdown in the first round.

Once again Munoz showed his toughness and got back up.  He was in the fight just long enough to make it to the second round.  Powell came out looking to finish things off, and he did just that.  He used his overhand right to set up one final body blow, a left hook, that ended the night for Munoz.

That is Powell’s 13th professional win and his 8th knockout.  Ahead of the fight he told MILLIONS that he’s been growing as a fighter.

“This camp has focused a lot on me just improving a lot of things that I already was good at trying to go from good to great.  My jab, my speed, my reflexes, timing, just everything.  My boxing IQ, all of that has just really helped me just get better.”

It certainly showed and it’ll be exciting to watch him climb the ranks in the super middleweight division.  You can ask Powell anything and he’ll respond with a personal video, like this one he sent me before the fight.
