Jones says the honor “means a lot to me,” and she says it serves as validation, “it just seems like my hard work is finally paying off.”  While that recognition is for her performance in 2021, Jones says there’s a lot to look forward to in 2022.  “I’m in the middle of transitioning to the pros right now,” says Jones, “so you know, working hard on all the changes I need to get done.”   Jones found a lot of success as an amateur athlete, but the path to an Olympic medal was lined with hurdles.  She wants other young women interested in boxing to be prepared to face adversity. “It's going to be hard, it’s not going to be an easy road, it’s going to be challenging.  And you know you’re not always going to win, you know, like every sparring match.
